I just wanted to add, when Shenzi had her kittens, we had gone away camping (a long planned trip with friends that we could not cancel) for the weekend and my eldest DD stayed home to keep an eye on her. She kept updating us (via cell phone) and everytime she would say, "Shenzi is just laying around, acting normal..every now and again, she seems a bit restless. No change"

These updates stayed exactly the same, it was frustrating because she seemed ready to pop, ya know? Then, monday morning, around 9:30 am, was the last time I talked to my DD (she was going to an all day concert and we were coming home). Same exact update, no changes. I though she was never going to deliver, although I was glad that we weren't going to miss the big event!

My DD left the house around 10 am and we got home at about 2 pm in the afternoon.

I walked in the bedroom and low and behold...Shenzi had delivered all 8 kittens, sometime between 10 am, when my DD left, and 2 pm...(I do know that 2 of them were just recently delivered before i came in the door, because they still had placentas attached and were wet) Funny thing, that there were no visible signs in the morning that she was that close. My DD was stunned when we told her later.

Just wanted to share that experience because sometimes things are happening and you can't tell...and then everything happens quickly and it is over.

In my first litter Sarah had the kittens on day 70 and the labor went fine. Sarah had her second litter four weeks ago and she gave birth during the night of the 67th day.
Siamese give birth later then most domestic cats. I would not be worried until the 72nd day.

KMR is really expensive when you have to completely raise kittens. There is a local pet store that sells dried lambs milk for kittens. I raised my three on this but I was wondering is this an ok substitution or should I always use KMR?
Basklc...have you contacted a group to see about getting these cats fixed so that you don't have to raise kittens without their moms. Here is a list of feral cats group that practice TNR (trap, neuter, return):

Tommorow we are going in for a C-section. I was telling my mother I didn't have any money and she is going to loan it to me so I can get her taken care of. Wish her good luck during surgery please!

Here is an update.
Today she is really sluggish. Her eyes are still clear and alert but she really doesn't move much. If you pick her up she just kind of lays there. I took her temp because if she had a fever I was going to take her to the emergency vet for a night c-section, but her temp is only 101.
First thing in the morning it is off to the vet for the c-section. I am really worried now because there has been a large lump in her side for a day now that won't move so I think he may be dead.
I hope to get her there by 9 so I should know something by tommorow afternoon.

Good luck to you, I really hope momma and babies pull out fine...
Just when you think "having kittens" is so precious..
dont get me wrong they still are adorable...But my experience, plus everyone elses this week is enough to stress you out!!

I wish people who didnt believe in spaying would be forced to read what some of us have gone through...

At one point I think we have all been stressed on some kind of topic..

Let us know how it goes ASAP, and I will be watching for her update

Definitely sending out some prayers for you and your momma kitty. Sorry this has been so frustrating for you.

Are you seeing any movement still (at least from the other side of her abdomen?)

When Sissy had her babies, she was fine before we went to bed for the night. She was ignoring the boxes we had prepared for her. Well, when the hubby got up the next morning, he came back to wake me because Sissy had her 3 kits behind the entertainment center during the night. She apparently didn't need any help.. LOL. Now she, daddy and 2 of the kits have been spayed and neutered. We have only one little girl to get spayed.

Hope everything is ok with your girl.
