We love our cats... but we enjoy the birds too. Plenty of "live entertainment" for the kitties.

Those are Red Winged Blackbirds. Real common here in the spring. That pic was taken last year, but we are swarmed with the pre Easter invasion right now. Common Grackles pictures below show up about the same time.

I love watching the birds almost as much as my cats do!
We get a Cardinal couple coming to our feeders, I think they nest in the hedge. They're so pretty, especially on a drab day, they really brighten up the scenery.
Our friends are out in the country and they get a lot more action at their feeders. They have woodpeckers, finches and even hummingbirds - my fave. They also have grackles which their cat used to harrass - until one day the birds fought back. Poor Annie (the cat) had a nasty wound on her shoulder which took a while to heal.

I love watching the birds! I love going up north and taking binoculars to see birds that aren't around here too. Such a peaceful pasttime.
