Hey all, well I have a small problem. My little cat, Halie, is having a blast with her food. She takes out all of her food from her bowl and plays with it. I have no clue why. She has plenty of toys and catnip to play with, but no, she has to play with her food. What can of things could i do to stop this problem?

Well, first of all- is it really a problem? As long as she eventually eats it it wouldn't bother me. Don't forget that to some extent this is part of a cats instincts. They are used to catching small animals and very often it isn't uncommon for them to play with them before eating them. My cat Zakk frequently plays with shrimp before he eats it- I think he likes to think he has some role in killing it first.
If your cat is a kitten, she may grow out of it. You could try serving more wet food- one would think she wouldn't play with it as much, but if she did you are looking at a bigger mess. YOu could also try giving her more small toys to bat around if she doesn't have any.
Don't know if this suggestion would help, but I also serve my dry food on boot mats, this way if they drop any dry food it doesn't go straight on the floor and is easier to clean up- this may curtail her playing but not if she is really determined.
