Probably at work :(
I just read the radio question of the day and I was thinking about what I wanted to be when I was little.
I wanted to be an astronaut--especially after watching the movie SpaceCamp (anybody remember that?!). Of course, I also really wanted to be a doctor. Then, when I was in high school I realized it was my destiny to be a chemist because Chemistry was my passion and it came so naturally to me. But, here I am, far from a chemist.

Doctor. That was the ONLY thing I ever wanted to be my whole life. And then last year I realised I was lazy.
So now I'm a doctor's secretary!

I didn't want to be Wonder Woman, I WAS Wonder Woman!

I always wanted to be a teacher, and I carried through with it. Went to school for 5 years and got a teaching job. It was the most horrible, awful year and a half of my life. I was miserable, I was a horrible teacher (I didn't have enough confidence in myself to have control over 30 teenagers), and I left as a mutual agreement with the school that it wasn't working.

I'm still trying to figure out what I was to be when I grow up, and I'm now 33 years old.

I wanted to do Daycare or work with children somehow.

After I grew up, I realized I wouldn't have enough patience!

My Mom did daycare for 16 years, I always wanted to follow in her footsteps!

Under a stack of blueberry waffles.
I wanted to be a doctor. For a wee while there, i inexplicably wanted to be a graphic designer, and did it freelance for two years. It bored the pants off me (luckily, I found them behind the couch before anyone noticed), and realized that medicine really WAS my one true love. It is always changing, new things are always being discovered, and it is anything BUT boring.

Given the fact that I love learning, and will spend a LOT of time researching anything that catches my fancy (usually science and health related things), it just feels like the perfect fit the more that I think about it.

When I was about 4 or so, I was outside playing Wonder Woman. Well, I had already spun and all that when my mother comes out and says that I have to come inside because it was time to go to the bathroom (Mom was obsessed with us going to the bathroom
). I looked right up at her and said "Wonder Woman doesn't GO to the bathroom!"

Let's see...astronaut - until I realized that you can't be an astronaut if you get motion sickness.

Paleontologist - until I found out that's what EVERYONE wanted to be.

Band/Orchestra director - until I actually had to direct people playing instruments and freaked out.

So I got a music performance degree and I am an admin. asst.!!!

I was an overachiever as a kid, LOL.

I used to say I wanted to be an artist in the morning, a veterinarian in the afternoon, and an astronaut at night, because that's when the moon and stars came out.

Then I wanted to be a doctor. Ok, so I'm a nurse, it's close!

I wanted to be the daughter of a Greek Shipping Millionaire. Seriously - from about the time I was about 4 I told my mom that I wasn't actually her daughter, that my real parents were millionaire shipping tycoon from Greece and that I had been kidnapped as a baby. I wouldn't answer to anything but what I thought was my real name "Alexandra". I didn't think that my parents were the ones that kidnapped me - I told them they found me in a garbage can and that my real parents were searching the whole world for me.

After I outgrew that fantasy (that took a couple of years) I wanted to own a ranch with a lot of horses!

I went through a few phases.....

First I wanted to be a ballerina...then I wanted to be a marine biologist, then my dad and 2 Uncle's took me to an airshow when I was about 8 and I decided I was going to be a flghter pilot in the military
...as I grew up I started listening to some of the negative people around me that told me I'd never be able to do that for a living so I decided to follow my mom's footsteps and become a nurse. I went to school for that for a year and my mom noticed I wasn't really happy, so for my birthday she got me an introductory flying lesson at a local flight school and that was it...I was hooked!!!
