Well yesterday we had a toxic spill on the roof of our building at work. Because I am preggers they sent me outside at 9:45 am (everyone else stayed in) - I read my book to 11 am and then went back in - it still reeked. I lasted about another hour. At that time people (not me) started passing out int he building from the fumes and getting very sick. I had developed a nasty headache and my asthma was really bad and I told my manager that I wasn't risking the baby and I was taking my lunch early. By the time I got my things together, the fire departmant was evacuating the building and our managers were saying "we don't have permission yet to leave from upper management". Screw that - the fire department is clearing the building - everyone started leaving. We had fire trucks, police and the bus ambulances outside the building. One of my co-workers who had been in the smell all morning collapsed. Shortly after they let us go home for the day as it was going to take a while to clear the smell and investigate what happened. This morning I arrived and couldn't get in right away because they were checking the air quality before we started work. Would have been nice if they did that yesterday before people started collapsing!
Oh well - I got an afternoon off work (I had a nap and went to the park with Kevin). My asthma is still not great today, but I am doing better. It was nice that the manager actually called me at home last night to see if I was ok - I was on of the few people the called to check on due to the pregnancy!
