One step backwards for man, fifty steps backward for felinekind. I hope that this stupid "gross irresponsibility is cute!" phase dies down soon.

Its really kinda sad for the cat, because that's sure not healthy...It is cute but it is irresponsible

It is disgusting. That cat will have nothing but problems in her life, and she'll likely die a slow miserable painful death one way or another. And think of how many other cats that could be fed with 20 lbs of cat food a week!

20 pounds of food a week!
My nearly 100 pound dog doesn't eat that much.

Poor cat.

Thats a huge kitty...poor thing, wonder how it walks and stands up,lol. Is it even healthy to be that fat?

No, it is not. That lady is spoiling that cat to death.

Thats so sad.

20lbs a week? Wowzers, thats A LOT of food for a cat!

I think that this is a disgrace. How can the cat even clean it self and if it can not roll back over on to it side our stomach with out help, what would happen if it fell of the couch if no one was home, it would be very distressed.

It is an act of cruelty to keep it so fat.

??? I thought that a tabby was a striped brown cat, not a ginger cat. Can someone let me know please.

I was thinking that also! That seems to be *alot* of food, for just one cat.

Tabby is simply a striped cat, of either ginger, brown or silver-blue.
That is just wrong!!!
Poor kitty has to suffer from their people's irresponsibility!
what a claim to make..
like gross overfeeding and lack of preventative care is something to brag about.

people like that should not be allowed to have animals.

Oh I know!!! The woman needed a good slap! (and the rest) she had such a bad attitude and is killing her dog. At least the other owners realised their errors and did their best to fix them.
Oh that poor cat. Does the owner not realise that she is doing damage to his heart and kidneys. That to me is animal cruelty!! People as irresponsible as that shouldn't be allowed to keep animals!!
Geesh...my cats eat 2.2 pounds of food a week. Her cat eats almost 10 times more...
I feel so bad for that poor cat. Its a wonder that it can still get around at all. I think that poor baby needs a new home! Salem and Ailey eat a 7 lb. bag of food about every week and a half (they free feed.) but they don't get alot of treats or "extra" munchies either.
How can she brag about her fat cat? Would she brag if she, the owner, weighed 400 or 500 pounds? That would be about comparable, I'd think.
people who do that to their animals should be shot.
Oh my God, that poor cat! It does NOT look happy.
She should try to put it on a diet. People can be so ignorant - it seems to me that all she is thinking/caring about is the cat making a new world record or something like that... Instead of worrying about the cat's health & quality of life

Wow a 15lb bag of Evo lasts me over a month with 4 cats!

Scully (when we got him) weighed over 30lbs and it took us a long time to get him down to the 21lbs he is now... how anyone can do that to their cat amazes me
post #25 of 27
ooo that makes me mad...

even worse tho..shes from Minnesota...
There is a lot of great cat owners in Minnesota too so we won't hold it against you!

Shesh! 20 lbs of catfood will last over 2 weeks here. And we feed our crew of 6 inside cats and 3 ferals that are living outside!! She should have her cat taken away from her.
