So who are the TCS hockey fans?? I'm heading to a game tonight that we really really need to win! Ok so we've clinched a playoff spot but we have never had a good enough team to be competitive for that #1 spot. Unfortunately we had a bad week last week so fell a bit behind. Its so competitive in that top 5!!

Go 'Canes!!

I used to be really obsessive with hockey. I still love the sport but its really hard to go to every home game (we have season tickets) and balance regular life at the same time. We have awesome seats though!!

I'm glad to see its taking off here though, and this run in the play-offs will be really good for our fan-base.

Detroit and Ottawa....our 2 biggest competitors for that #1 spot....

Its hard to believe we have done so well this season. I mean our team isn't used to being that good!

Of course I won't forget the Stanley Cup run in 2002 with Detroit. Great series even if we did have it handed to us
. That arena was soooo loud!!!!!!!! Never heard anything louder!

Red Wings Suck!

Hard Core Avalanche fan here.
Won a great game against the Ducks last night - and a big game too! Now we're 1st in our Division, which is the tightest Division in the League. And we're playing Calgary (2 points behind us, who have a game against the Kings tonight, which they should win and tie us for first again) on Friday.

Ever since we traded Abi to Montreal, we've been playing great. Budaj has been playing great - except in those nasty shoot outs.

That move was really confusing. Not that I follow Colorado that much but Abischere (sp?) is really good....

Getting Gerber from Anaheim was certainly one of the best moves we made in the off-season. He certainly plays like a #1 goalie and has earned his position well.

Don't ya miss the old rivalry? That was the best hockey I have ever watched when those 2 teams would go at it.

Wings don't have any tough guys now so there's not fighting at all really.

Same with us! We just traded our enforcer and the tough game isn't our game anymore. To bad because I had Boulerice's jersey.... Now I need to get a new one

Abi didn't look all that great for a lot of the season. Rumor has it that he was also becoming a real negative force in the locker room. He's good, but I don't think he was a goalie that could take the Avs back to the Cup. Maybe another team, but not the Avs.

What we couldn't figure out was why Montreal gave up a really good goalie like Theodore for one like Abisheir. But we're all secretly hoping that it was a deal like we made for Roy - that Theodore wasn't happy in Montreal, although he wasn't as vocal about it as Patty was years ago.

Jeremy Roenick is my favorite player. Back when he was a Coyote my dad got me on of their third jerseys of his for Christmas. Not too long after that he got traded to Philly.

I still have the jersey hanging in the sports room though.

Those were great games! And it didn't matter how good or bad the teams were doing at the time, it was almost always a great match-up. And the only time, I think, that Patrick Roy threw down the gloves...

Because Theodore is/was sucking this season. I know you can't go by just one season but his stats (thinking to fantasy hockey) just aren't very good.... He's either on his game...or dangerously off his game (seen it way to many times, not just in this season but in others).

Of course Brodeur isnt' that hot this year either but I doubt the Devils will ever give him up!!

Sounds like an even trade then. Abi's been the same way - either on or really off. I think the negative attitude in the locker room was the key factor for the Avs, though. You can work through an off season, but a bad attitude is harder to overcome.

I am still waiting for Calgary to explode. On paper I think they're probably one of the best teams in the league, if not the best.

I'll have to let my fiance know about Abi and the attitude thing. He'll be interested in hearing about that. He really likes Abischer.

Every team has their good and bad years.

Not having Joe Thornton certainly doesn't help.

Trading him wasn't the brightest move. The GM was fired this week.

Yah the Bruins are my #2 team. But they seem to have run out of steam this year. I really like Raycroft. Is he still with the Bruins?
