I was a bit nervous because I had to work last night that my husband wouldn't keep a close enough eye on the boys with the kittens but he seemed to have done a pretty good job! (Although the dog didn't get fed til I got home!)
I was a little concerned that Ethel didn't appear to be getting out to go to the bathroom. They must have had a good night because I didn't hear any squeaking. This morning Jake told me that she came to the door so I knew she had gotten up. After I took the boys to school I crawled back in bed for a little
and I felt the softest plop. Ethel had gotten up on the bed and laid down with me! (I was feeling a bit neglected!) She purred, kept her eyes on the box and within 45 seconds when she heard a squeak she was back with her babies!
I guess you just have to have faith in nature!

Lisa..when I had foster kitties...I had the litterbox near the nesting box so mom didn't have to go far.

I just moved the litter box last night. The kittens are 5 days old and Ethel is roaming the house and doing her own thing. But she's funny because she only does it when she can see where all of us are!

I had to get the box moved since I am going to transition them all once the eyes open into the laundry room (my husband enlarged it last week and it's now almost the nicest room in the house!
) but they can be kept from roaming the house in there.

He's great at tearing things out but I am now trying to get it painted and back together! Once he gets my shelves in and all my craft stuff back (hopefully by this time next year!) it will all be good. But I hate being put in the position of having to work on things that I choose not to work on! He took down a wall in the kitchen area too...Now I get to wait for the moulding!

The biggest reason I have to more the "kids" out of my room is on Friday I was driving home from the gym minutes after the boys were coming home from school. Crossing the street were 6 boys and by the time I got the car stopped all 6 were in MY BEDROOM looming over the babies. My 8 year old has no problem bringing anyone into my room to see the kittens and I am about to throttle him!

He was suppose to sand the laundry room tonight (I didn't do it to his satisfaction) so that I could paint tomorrow. Naturally, it didn't get done and he is travelling for the next 3 days! I am just going to paint it tomorrow anyway! I need to air it out before I can put the babies in there!

I just realized that for whatever reason the boys use our bathroom for EVERYTHING! So I might as well put the gate up in the hall bath and put them in there when they get bigger!

Men, you can't live with them and you can't...well, you fill in the blank!

I know that all to well. I have 3 boys and my animals are all female. My boys use mine also no matter how many times I tell them to get out (they have a problem with knocking)

Knock? What's that? At least my 10 year old leaves the room when he walks in on me...the 8 year will hang out to watch. He's such a little s***!
