I'm just beginning to replace the first round of Soft Claws that I had my vet put on him the day I brought him home. He's an in-between size - a small 6 month old weighing only 5 lbs. So the vet used the kitten size a month ago, but when I replace a few with more kitten size a few days ago, I couldn't get it to push on all the way. So I tried the small cat size tonight on one toe that came uncovered. I'm afraid it got pushed on too far, like just a bit up over that skin part at the top of the nail!

Does anyone know if this skin part grows out naturally kinda like nails do? If so, I'm thinkin that the Soft Claw will still be able to fall off with the nail sheath. Otherwise, I'm afraid I've glued the Soft Claw on my baby's toe for good!

I always had to cut off the end of the cover to make a better fit for my girl as she was in between a small cat and kitten as well when we needed to use them.

You can use cuticle scissors to cut them down to size next time. Unless your kitty starts walking funny on that paw I think it will be okay this time. Just makes sure you trim them next time!

Thanks for the "trimming" advice. He's not walking funny yet, so next time I'll just trim a wee bit off the Soft Claw first. Sometimes the easiest solutions are right in front of your nose!
