I posted a while ago about Will, my avatar cat. He adopted us from the dairy farm across the street over a year ago. He has lived happily in our garage, making his rounds of the neighborhood, and basically being topcat outside.

When he disappeared for over a week, we were heartbroken. And so very happy when he came home! Now he has been home for quite some time, and we have been thinking about bringing him inside, to be an in and out cat.

He has been in several times, and met all the inside cats. Here he is on my lap.

Laying on my bed! (See the pig snout? Isn't he just too adorable!)

And Festus checking him out.

As she sniffs more, and looks closer, her ears go back.

So far, he has been a perfect gentleman to the inside kitties. Fest gave him a few hisses, and Jazz is afraid of him.

He only comes in for short periods, then wants back outside. But the more he comes in, the more he gets to explore...like finding our bed!

I wish he would just move inside, but he really is the watch cat...I doubt he wants to give up his outdoor freedom. But if he just moves in part of the time, I'll be a lot happier!

I know lots of people don't agree with outside cats, but we are in the country, and it is fairly safe for kitties here. I just wanted to share some pics of my handsome boy!

Well I think you should do what you feel is right as the mom of the cats. We all my add out opinions but it is just that our opinions, you are the decision maker.
I think you are sweet to be so loving to them all. I do want to add please get the tomcat shots or fixed so nothing will happen to your other kits.

The cats house, we just pay the mortgage..
I think thats a lovely story of how he's come to you. If you live in a safe area then I'm sure he's ok outside.
Maybe the more he comes in the more he'll just want to stay! fingers crossed anyway, he's so lovely

Awww, just look at him and his little piggy nose!
Definitely a cutie!

It's great that he's coming in for periods of time - shows that he's comfortable!
I hope you'll be able to encourage him to become and indoor outdoor cat!

Awww he is lovely I am sure he will love being an indoor/outdoor cat. Mine have the best of both worlds, the boys prefer in and the girls prefer out.

By the way your duvet cover brought back memories my ex husband had the exact same one on his bed the very first time I stayed over

Yes, Will is up to date on his shots, and was neutered last summer. I know there is still some risk of him bringing worms or fleas in...but we will deal with that if needed. With all the fosters coming and going, that is always a concern, anyhow.

And Casa De Gato, that comforter is so old! We have had it for well over 10 years! I actually looked at some new ones last weekend, and while they were pretty, they were a satiny material. I could just see the cats on that...it would be pulled apart in no time! LOL! So I'll keep looking until I find something that suits my needs better...

As soon as he gets in, he asks to go out. I think he would prefer we all move out into the garage with him...silly boy! It has only been a few days, I think over time as he gets time on our bed and in our laps, he will come in more. I wish I could use a cat door so he could come and go freely, but I'm too afraid my wimpy housecats would start going outside, and I will not allow that.

What a cutie Will is!! Some cats are just happier as outdoor cats. But he is obviously happy as outdoor/indoor right now!

He's such a cutie!
Hopefully as he experiences the comforts of the indoors, he'll feel more inclined to spend more time there. If not, I don't think it's unreasonable for him to expect the rest of the family to move into the garage to accomodate him.
