Which one did you have more success with? I am currently using Frontline.

I've used both and find they do the same thing. The only difference is Frontline prevents heartworm as well (though not sure if they have different kinds that do heartworm and not do it...). But I decided that flea control for our outside cat only needs to be done during flea season, and heartworm medication should be done regularly. So I will stick with advantage and do a seperate heartworm pill. However, like I said, Frontline might have a non-heartworm med too, just not sure.

I did not know that frontline did anything for heartworm. I thought Revolution did that.

Oh crap your right! Now I have them all mixed up. Ok yah. On Clover he started with Advantage, did Revolution for a while and now does Frontline + heartworm tab.

They all worked the same as I saw for fleas though. Over the counter stuff is the stuff that dosen't work at all.

I use both. But have been using Frontline more often because it is better at killing ticks(which unfortuneately we have BAD).......Advantage is more of a flea killer.

Advantage kills fleas only and is not waterproof. Frontline Plus kills fleas and ticks and is waterproof.

I think if you are just looking for flea control for an indoor-only or primarily indoor cat, Advantage is your best bet.

If your cat spends a lot of time outdoors, then Frontline may be better.

In general, my experience is that Advantage does a much better job of taking care of fleas. Frontline, though not as good for fleas, does take care of other parasites and has the advantage (no pun intended) of being waterproof.

Revolution more or less combines the best attributes of both Advantage and Frontline; the disadvantage is that it is a bit more costly and does require a vet's prescription.
