Hi I am new at this, so here is a little bit about me. My mother adopted a stray kitten awhile back and let it stay outside, but then it became pregnant. My mother was taking care of it till March 18 because my sister had a bad wreck and has been in the hospital with 2 broken legs since, so we took the cat in and adopted her from my mother. She had one kitten at 7:15 AM on Monday, and the second one came out feet first and not breathing, but is doing great now, at 1:25
, the 3rd kitten came out at 4:45 PM doing fine. She has been doing fine ever since, but I always thought cats had more then 3 kittens in a litter? Is she still pregnant with more and going to have a really long labor? Or are we done? Thank you for all the help... we are new parents to a cat!!!

I believe 3-5 is a very normal litter size. She still could be pregnant. As long as she is not straining and showign distress then she is not in immediate danger. You can feel around so see if you can feel anything inside. Of course the best to know will be the vet if you have any suspicion that she is still pregnant. But as far as a normal size, 3 is quite normal.

Welcome to TCS....I'm glad all went well....sounds like she may be done....but if you are concerned, you can always take her in to see your vet and verify that there are no more kittens. The length of her delivery is really dependant upon how many times she mated...that is why a cat can deliver over a longer period of time.

Please make sure that she is now confined to the indoors because a cat can become pregnant again as early as a week after giving birth. Now would be a good time to schedule her spay surgery for when the kittens are around 6-8 weeks of age. Again, she needs to remain strictly indoors until she is spayed.

I had a friend of mine come to the house last night that is a vet assistant and she felt around and said there is no more kittens. So we just have a litter of 3 very cute kittens.
Katie, now that I have adopted her she stays indoors, and we are getting her spayed when the kittens are old and no longer needing momma for milk. But I have NEVER believed in leaving or letting a cat outside just to run around, but thats just me. So the cat that we named Snickers, and the one kitten we are keeping from her litter will be indoors at all times.
Thanks for the replys and hope is all well with everyone else!!!
