Has she ever seen a vet?? It may be a good idea to get her checked out. Since this was her second accidental litter...it would also probably be a good idea to have her spayed now. If you need a list of low cost clinics, let me know.

A vet visit would be the best thing to do. A swollen nipple (is there also any discoloration?) may be a sign of an infection in the mammary gland and it requires medical attention.

While you are at the vet, you might also consider discussing spaying your girl with him. If her kittens are now weaned completely, then there is no reason to wait. Do you have good homes for the babies or are you keeping them? If you are keeping them and you let us know where you are, we might be able to suggest a list of low or no cost spay/neuter clinics where you can take everyone to have their procedures.

Best of luck and please update us with what the vet says.

Is just one teat look swollen, or is it more than one? When you feel it, does the swollen teat feel warmer to the touch than the others?
It sounds like a vet appointment would be in order very soon. It could get become more serious quickly.
How old are the kittens now?
That is wonderful that she is getting spayed!!

Mercury....a bit OT...but regarding the stray male that won't let you near him...you may want to see if the local humane society has a humane trap that you could trap this male in. That way he could be neutered and wouldn't have the opportunity to get any other females pregnant. If you need a list of potential groups to help you...let me know and I'll look up TNR groups in your state.
