A woman adopted a cat from my rescue group and a couple weeks later without warning the cat (12 weeks old) developed a serious balance problem and was falling over. She went immediately to the vet who suspects either a viral ear infection or a neurological problem but there is no definitive diagnosis yet.
The cat doesn't have wobbly bobbly disorder
Tested neg for Taxoplasmosis
Tested neg for FIV and FeLV
Has normal chemistry and cbc.
The cat has improved a bit but will still fall over if he turns his head to the side. He's also having trouble finding his litter box unless confined. They are watching and waiting and hoping if inner ear related that it will improve. The cat is also on a course of antibiotics.
Any thoughts or ideas appreciated.
