I think I need an intervention.

I am ADDICTED to buying cat toys!!

Does anyone else have this problem? I have to walk through the toy aisle at Petco to get to the cat food, and I always end up spending several dollars on new toys for the babies.

Today I brought home another doorknob toy and a pompom spring thing on a carpet base. My boyfriend says I'm turning into a cat lady.

I had that problem. Dori had so many toys that I was constantly cleaning out her toy basket to get rid of the things she didn't play with to make room for more. I finally realized that it was a waste to keep buying her toys when she didn't play with them anyway.

I have that problem too. I usually end up buying to many and then splitting then between our cats, a friends cats, and the Humane Society's cats. But after I do that, I always go and buy more. Every few years I buy new cat towers, also. I have four now. One is out on the porch to make room for the new one we got a few months ago, but still does this mean I have a problem with that too???
NAH! It just means that we are all crazy cat people who love our animals!!!!!

Not at all! My cats only like those mylar crinkle balls! And I have some long string toys from the dollar store. And my dog is the same...she only likes one certain ball, and now will eat catfood from a Kong toy.

So I do look at the pet toys, but never buy, because they just won't play with them.

However, Garfield will dig "toys" out of the trash...and they all steal whatever little toys the kids leave laying around. Most recently a little rattly toy...I'm not sure what the appeal was for a human child...but the cats were wild for it, sliding it around the kitche floor, and picking it up in their mouth. When the kids leave little things on the kitchen floor I usually throw them away when I sweep, but not the kitty toys!

I confess to being a cat-toy/stuff buying addict. I just got back from the store with a new bag of catnip (the other one disappeared...hmmm), a new harness for Lucky and some new mice toys. How embaressing...i think i already am the cat lady!

I switch mine out every few weeks as so he doesnt get bored

I buy the little plush soccer balls you get at Petsmart; mostly because Devin seems to hide them! My mum is the one who buys stuff for him, random silly little things that he hates. He's so picky when it comes to toys, he likes my old stuffed animals and pens.

Although I do buy loads of cat litter! He's got bags of it in the closet, I'm a little pananoid about running out!

If I had any more room in the apartment I'd have like 5 of those cat towers, I find one and decide that I like it. Who cares what Devin's favourite colour is, I want one in green!!

WHO ME????
addicted to buying cat toys???
No, why do you say that?? Just because I start to twitch at the thought of leaving the pet store without some sort of cat toy doesn't mean I'm addicted. I can stop anytime I want.

I think half my problem is that Sam likes to shove all his toys under the refrigerator and then try to get them to come back out.

I honestly think there are probably 8 fuzzy mice under there that will never see the light of day again.

At least the new kitty seems to like all of the things that he didn't like!

i just bought mine some, while ordering some treats from Plain Brown Tabby. the arrived - Java LOVES her catnip carrot with the feathers on top, the other three seem to prefer the packing peanuts [they're the corn-based ones, so i let them play with them]. go figure!

As I was moving out of my last apartment, I thought to myself "Hm. I wonder if the new people will ever stop finding cat toys?" There were fuzzy mice and mylar balls and glitter pom poms that had gone behind or under the fridge for "safekeeping" that are destined to "add to the character of the home" forever!

I have this same problem. I'm not sure I understand why it's fun to shove toys under things, but once a week I move my couch & find at least 10 sparkle balls under there. I too have many toys all the way to the back of the fridge. My favorite is that once everyother week I find a toy mixed in with my dirty laundry.
