She seems to be quite a bit more restless today. Also looks like she is poking around and nesting some too. She keeps wanting to go in my bedroom, which is unfortunately full of dirty laundry.

Good luck with your blessed event!

Ok I have a question. I have two other cats besides my pregnant Tullah. Oden is my fixed male. He is very close to Tullah as they were raised together. He is very docile and loving. Alma my female who is not fixed (because she is just about to come of age but I have papers to get her fixed for free since she is from the shelter) really could just care less about anything that she did not choose to do. The pregnant cat has always mothered her and Alma is very sweet.

I keep noticing in posts that I should keep my other cats away from the kittens (lol if they ever decide to make their debut). How can I do this? I have a small house. Will it be to much to continue to leave tullah locked in the bathroom if I let her out a couple times for a few minutes for the day? I just don't want to keep her locked up to much.

What can I do about this?

We kept our mother cat and kittens in our bedroom (she delivered in the closet). We just left the closet door partially open and she would come out to eat, drink, use the litter box...and sometimes to relax a bit while the kittens slept. She actually did not show any interest in leaving the room for at least a few weeks. And even then, she would only want out for a short period of time and then I would let her back in.

We eventually moved them into a spare bedroom when the kittens became more active. But even then, we didn't allow the other animals constant access...only for short periods of time.

IMO, the biggest reason to keep them 'quarantined', so to speak, is because it makes the mother feel more secure and less stressed knowing that she and her babies are not threatened by other animals, in their territory.

A bathroom might be an inconvenient place to keep her for the few months that she will need to raise her kittens. I would suggest moving her to a room that had less traffic now (before the birth), like a bedroom, if at all possible.

I am not saying that you can never introduce the other animals, only that mama cat and babies really need a place of their own...a place that the other animals do not have constant access to.

Btw, I bet you are getting anxious...can't be too much longer, right? I can't wait to hear the news!

Oh, and I wanted to add...my other cats and dog were a bit put off when we quarantined her to our bedroom because they were used to being allowed in there. But, they quickly adjusted. Although, I will say...they were VERY curious and did want to get in there to sneak a peek.

My one male cat DID accidentally get in once and the mother cat freaked on him, BIGTIME! He never even got close to the kittens ...some fur flew and he learned a lesson. Don't mess with mama.

I had a similar incident-My 1/2 ragdoll, Meggie, had 1 kitten, in our closet. Our oldest cat, Tweety, can't resist a clothesbasket. Meggie wasn't real sure what to do with this kitten creature, and constantly left him alone the first day, except to feed him. Tweety came in, saw the basket and hopped in
. When she found a kitten in there, she promptly hopped out(whew!) (Tweety is the one who fostered Meggie).Meggie realized what happened and it must have kicked her mother instincts into gear, because she didn't leave the basket for a week except to eat and use the litter box
, and then right back in she went! (we kept our momma cat's litter box -a new small one that only she used- and food within site of the kitten basket the first week).

Well today we took her to the vet because when I woke up there were not any kittens. She said that the kittens were ready but her vulva was not swollen at all and she was not having contractions. She said that I could opt for a c-section or I could wait. Since it is 300 I don't think I will opt for such an extreme surgery. The vet told me that if she does not have kittens by Monday that a C-section will probably be required. She is at the shortest time 65 days but everyone at the vet thinks it is probably longer just because the chance that she got pregnant the last day of the week would be very unlikely so she is probably even more overdue than that.
Oh this is crazy and the waiting came is killing me!

Well almost Monday I will say a prayer for your baby. I know c-sections have a risk is there a chance maybe a few more days would still be ok. Maybe some meds to induce the birth instead of the surgery. Please keep us all posted Thank You
