My son was playing near the kittens and I don't know what happened. I left the room for 2 minutes to use the washroom and I heard the kitten start meowing really loud so I came running and she was all contorted. My husband is on the phone with the vet right now. I think its back legs are broken. I thought it was dead because it went all limp, but it was still breathing. She's awake and meowing. I feel sooo bad. I hope we dont have to put her down. Kyle's rushing her to the clinic right now. Please pray for her.

My son's 3 years old...I knew better than to leave him alone with them. He cried himself to sleep..he feels sooooo terible. I am awaiting a call from kyle...He rushed her off to the vet. I'm soooo scared. I didn't realize how attatched I was to her already and its only been 3 1/2 weeks.

How terrifying, for everyone & for the poor kitten!!!!!
I will most certainly pray for this kitty. You're doing the right thing, taking it to the emergency vet. Please tell me how it goes as soon as possible. At least it's still awake....
...I hope it pulls through.

Thank you sooooooooo much for all of your vibes and prayers.....because they WORKED!!!!!!!!! Kyle came home just afew minutes ago and Kitten B is now named Yuki which is japanese for lucky (or snow) because her left leg was only bruised and the reason she passed out was due to shock.. but my little baby will be ok thank goodness!

I'm so glad she is ok! I had a cat who was severly injured as a kitten (by me
), and she grew up healthy and strong. We always kept her, because I feared she wouldn't be strong, but she lived a long life. In fact, we just lost her 2 summers ago.

I would do the happy dance with my own guys, but they will have none of it, but I did it alone anyway!

I love happy endings!

Wake your poor son up and tell him the good news!

The poor little kitty! What a terrifying welcome to the world. I'm sure she will grow to know love very soon!

Yea I am grateful she is okay, and I have definately learned a great deal from this experience. I will be much more causious from now on when it comes to my son and the kittens. Thankfully this didn't end sadly as it could have.
P.S. I have a poll going in the cat lounge to help name Yuki's sister, Kitten A. Now that Yuki has her name, I figured that her sister should have one too. Please vote. I need help with a hard decision.

Prayers here, too, for your kitty and your son (and for you, too-please don't beat yourself up about this-things like this can happen with our toddlers and our pets, sometimes when we're looking, too. Whatever happens, it will be okay)
.

P.S.-Whoops! Read the message and went straight to reply
. I am SO glad your kitten is okay-have had a few kitten scares myself-probably why I jumped
!

I think this is the most important thing, other than your kitty being ok, that you learnt something. Obviously none of what happened was intentional, but u learned something, as did your son. I'm sure this will be a very valuable lesson to him in just how fragile newborns can be (whether human or otherwise). Glad to hear everything is ok now

Ok, so now I have another problem/question>>>>>So since we brought Yuki home, we've placed her back in the nest with Yen (mommy) and the vet gave us a heater pad thing to help with the bruising, but now Yen won't stay with the kittens and that is weird for her. She's normally with them 24/7. I hope that she isn't rejecting Yuki cuz she has weird vet smells on her or because she's hurt?!?!? What do you thinL I should/could/can do for the kittens and mommy?

If you suspect her kittens smell is wierd you can rub a little wet food on the kitten and get momma to lick it off. This will fix the smell issue. If its something else though I'm not sure...

It could be that she doesn't like the extra warmth of the heat pad or it could be the vet smells, as you said. Take Yuki and rub one of the other kittens all over her, so the smell is transferred and the vet smell is masked.
