I absolutely *LOVE* Sweet and sour pork!!!!!

After that it's a certain kind of soup (at the restaurant where we used to go when I was a kid they called it Bejing style soup, don't know what it's called elsewhere), the chicken lo mein is just great and I'm also heavily into duck, satay and if the two come together...YUMMY!!!!!

I also loved it when we went to london and instead of going to the "tourist" chinatown (you know, Gerrard Street and company
) we went like a few streets further and ended up in a restaurant that was frequented by the Chinese themselves and the cooking was a lot different from the typical Chinese that you get around the world...
The place was tiny, about the size of my living room and after a while my mum started to get rather crabby cause our meal (me and her had chosen won-tons with some kind of broth) just wouldn't come, but my dad happened to cast a look at their kitchen and saw that our food was being prepared *freshly* and the flavour was absolutely worth the wait!

Lemon chicken, egg rolls and wonton soup. I love chinese food and normally we get it once every 2 weeks or so, but not lately. Our favourite takeout place was just bought by new owners and they have changed all of the recipes on my favourites. The food sucks now (IMO) - I want the old owners back!

I love the local buffets because you can try lots of different things. But my favs are the honey chicken and a potato dish served at a small place in Boonville. (Note to self: Get some soon!!!!!)

Good thing I ate before reading this thread.

OMG I love chinese food! Unfortunately my fiance dosen't suffer the same addiction
. He's even from the Phillipines and dosen't like asian food near as I do.

Anyway my favs...hmmmm...

SUSHI! Ok not serious sushi, just beginners sushi, and lots and lots of wasabi!
Crab Rangoon...mmmm....
Hot and Sour soup, the spicier the better!
Those dumpling things...with that spicy sauce.
Scallion Pancakes (how come I can't find them in chinese restaurants down here?? I only had them in NH chinese restaurants)
Shrimp Toast (can't find them made well on the east coast, only had good ones in the midwest)

I like lots of chicken types but if I'm not careful it gives me an upset stomach. I usually take 1-2 pieces of every different kind of chicken on buffet. I favor the general tsu chicken but unfortunately I have had it made poorly to many times. It is my favorite chicken if made well though.

i like lots of different ones, but my hands-down favorite would be... sweet & sour pork. actually, i love sweet & sour sauce on eggrolls, too - i think it's the sauce mostly, because i also love sweet & sour chicken. but since i'm allergic to chicken, i tend to avoid it. of course, i'm also allergic to pineapple, a main component of sweet & sour sauce... so i don't eat it too often, either!

Anyone else really into wasabi and hot mustard? I'm all about making things ultra spicy. I'll mix a little wasabi into all my sauces.

Ooo!!!

Since we seem to switch to Asian food in general:
Japanese: I'm all about sushi! And the Miso soup!

Thai: Pad Prik. Yummy! And I love the Rice chips! we have an excellent Thai place around the corner from work.

Chinese: Beef & Broccoli, Dim Sum times (love all their little rolls and such!), Wonton Soup, Crab Ragoon, Egg Drop Soup.

must have chinese soooooon

I like sweet-n-sour chicken or pork (this is nasty, but my friend and I call it sweet-n-sour kitten
) and beef or chicken with broccoli. I don't try new things very often, so I stick with those mostly. I love Won ton soup too and crab rangoons are THE BEST!!! And forget the white rice, gotta have pork fried

You know its weird...I really don't like regular rice anymore. I prefer sticky rice now. LOL. But I agree...perhaps tomorrow's lunch needs to be asian!

I love Chinese food, and since you are asking for descriptions I 'll try to describe a few that I have tried...

For appetizers I like pot stickers which are like little meat stuffed raviolis which are lightly saute'd, dip them in vinegar and chilli oil...mix a drop or two of the chilli oil into a tablespoon or two of the vinegar.

My favorite soup is the Wor WonTon it has seafood, pork, and chicken and vegetables in a clear broth.

Some seafood dishes I like are Tilapia with Chinese Greens (steamed or broiled), Fried Prawns with Walnut it has a sauce which is sweet made with mayonaise and the walnuts are glazed, and Scallops with Garlic sauce.

I tend to favor chicken over beef but one I do like is Szechuan Beef which is thinly sliced beef with Chinese vegetables in a slightly spicy brown sauce.

For poultry I love Lotus Chicken (or squab/pigeon) it is minced chicken served with lettuce leaves and plum sauce (you wrap the chicken & sauce up like a little burrito.) Mandarin Crispy Chicken, Lemon Chicken, Smoked Duck, Sweet and Sour or Uncle Tsou's Chicken and Cashew Chicken are all good.

For vegetables I like saute'd baby bok choy with or without garlic, or the Chinese string beans. Even if they're not on the menu, you can usually get a decent Chinese Restaurant to fix these for you.

Fried Rice and Chow Mein are good, but I like the plain white sticky rice best with dinner.

For desert I like the mango pudding.

Mmm...Chinese food. Love it!

Let's see: Pepper Steak, Chicken (or Beef) and Broccoli, Lo Mein, Shrimp Fried Rice, Sesame Cold Noodles, Steamed Dumplings....

Don't even get me started on the goodies they serve at Dim Sum!

I spend $8 to go to the China King Buffet. I LOVE the fried rice. That's what I go for. I eat the BBQ chicken(its so fun to eat off the stick!) & the other chicken things that are breaded. I don't know what they are called. I like the noodl-y stuff, too!

oh man! Not I want chinese!
