Ever since my sister moved into her new house she hasn't really been watching the cats too well. Well now because Tracii Guns died Mystik is the only one left..and I'm certain my sister and her boyfriend don't pay attention to her all that much. Plus they allow her to go outside even though she's not supposed to be outside by law.

I heard that animal control is starting to pick up any cats that are wandering the streets so yesterday I was worried when I saw Mystik run outside. I knelt down and started calling her to me and she seemed scared which is strange because normally she'll come running right to me. I completely sat down and kept calling her to me and she cautiously approached me and rubbed her head against my hand. I went to go pick her up carefully and she thrashed and my finger got caught underneath her collar so she thrashed even more and full on attacked me..

Now Mystik has scratched me before but never that bad..she's never broken skin like that before and she's never even been that angry or scared before. Plus I've never been scratched by any of my cats so bad that I cried like that..The camera isn't good about getting the whole thing but them cuts are deep and I mean DEEP, and like I said Mystik has never been like this before..

What do you think could have caused her to be so frightened?

Something is very wrong here and you should be worried. Your sis and her boyfriend are NOT paying attention to her AT ALL. Mystik is not happy. I don't blame her for lashing out like that.

Hi, it wasn't You she reacted to, it was a 'stranger' in the street. What I mean is that when you suddenly appeared in a different place you became strange and she couldn't process it quickly enough to not 'defend' herself (and may also have been intent on doing something else when you showed up). I'm not too sure how Yayi knows just how well or not your sister is taking care of Mystik (apart from her being let out), but have you talked to your sister nicely about the whole thing, or even considered possibly adopting Mystik yourself? It's too bad you got so scratched up, but the cat was just reacting so fast, as cats sometimes have to do when outside, that she just didn't register who you were.

I completely agree. I would talk to your sister, and see maybe how the boyfriend is treating the kitties. I also agree with the idea that maybe you should offer to adopt the poor thing yourself. How sad...

I've tried adopting her before. I offered them $90.00 to take her in and they turned down my offer..
