Well about 4 days ago my boyfriend found a momma cat and baby kittens underneath a old car where she had them. They seemed fine and well two days ago there was one of the kittens outside his door. The mom was nowhere to be found and we were starting to get scared that she just left him. This is funny becaus earound the same time last year, the same exact thing happened. We had found a baby kitten, alone and it was basically dying. At that time, my own cat just had her kittens and well I brought the lonely kitten and gave it to my momma cat. She fed it, it surrvived and everyone was happy.

Well guess what, it's a vicious cycle and it's happening again. The kitten we found last year, just had her first litter yesterday. She had 5 kittens but one died. So the four of them seem okay. The mom is feeding them but she hasn't been out of her box all day long! She doesn't seem to be licking them or cuddling them as well. She looks like she's in shock but she's still there feeding them away.

Back to my boyfriends kitty he found. For the last fourdays he put a box with blankets, hot water bottles inside the box to keep it warm. He feeds it and wipes it clean from poop or pee and he does eat the replacement milk untill he's full but my boyfriend works fulltime and well he can't always be there. He takes care of it in the mornings and when he gets home from school. His mom takes care of it as well.

So what I was wondering if it would be a okay idea to bring the kitty over to my cats liter? I was able to do that last year and she grew up nice and healthy. But you never know how moms can be you know.

I was thinking I'll bring the kitten over, put the kitten in the box and just stay there looking on, if she's okay with it, then well, I'll leave the kitten there.

Any other advice? Tips? Momma looks freaked out XD! She needs to eat but everytime she wants to get out of the box, the kittens cry and she stays.

Thanks for hearing me out. <3 Any inormation will be great. By the way, my momma is around 10 months old. Is that a normal time to be having kittens? Because she did! 4 baby boys!

mewdrop....first, welcome to TCS. Second, yes, it is normal for a cat to birth at 10 months of age....but as you are experiencing, some cats aren't exactly the best "mothers" (at ten months you are talking about a teenager in cat years).

I would not bring this kitten over to your existing mother until it has been seen by a vet. If this kitten was truly "abandoned" by it's mother, there is a good chance it is sick and could infect the kittens from your mother cat. I would continue to have your boyfriend and his mother feed this kitten until it can be health checked by a vet.

The other point I need to stress is it is incredibly important that your new mother cat not go outdoors....cats cat become pregnant again about a week after giving birth and she really should be indoors only until you have had the opportunitiy to have her spayed. If she has been indoors only and you have an intact male...you need to have him neutered ASAP and he will need to be kept away from her until she is spayed.

There is a really good site that your boyfriend can visit:

http://www.kitten-rescue.com/

Which has all sorts of good info on caring for an orphan kitten.

Good Luck and keep us posted.
