Where does your kitty scratch their litter to cover up their #1's or #2's in the litterbox?

My Hobbes likes to try the floor outside the box, as my Sunny likes to give the wall a shot. Lol...aren't kitties funny??

Do you mean where the litter ends up, or where they scratch to cover it up?

Oh, ok. Well I voted for the actual litter & the sides of the box.
I've never seen a cat try to cover it with the wall or floor though!

Lol...it's really funny to watch. The first cat I had that tried the floor or the wall, I tried to teach her to scratch the LITTER itself...but quickly found that it didn't help at all. She would still scratch on the wall for HOURS. LOL...poor things...when they decide that's where to scratch, they really think they're doing good. LOL!!

Yes, it really is adorable. There were times with that particular cat, though, where I would chase her out of the box after (literally) an hour had gone by and I was trying to sleep or some such. Lol...hey, at least she tried!! I would just go to the box after she was done and was busy cleaning, and would cover it for her. I would wait until she was bathing, though, so she wouldn't be offended.

My cats cover their mess with the litter, the wall, the floor, the walls of the litterbox, the carpet, the door to the litterbox.

You forgot another option....they don't scratch to cover up!!

I have one kitty who doesn't cover up anything. The other one is very diligent about covering up her stuff as well as my other kitty's!!

When Harely uses the litter box, he covers it up, then scratches the sides of his box, and then the side of John's dresser and then the wall in front of his box (I have a Rubber Maid lid the size of his litter box, and its big - that he scratches, so he doesn't scratch up the walls
)

Angel is all of the above plus the washing machine. The litter boxes are in our back room next to the washer so she "digs" on the side of it. I hate the sound if I am back there when she does it, almost like finger nails on a chauk [sp?] board.

Oh, that is TOO FUNNY!!
I swear the poor dears really think they're getting somewhere when they do it, too, don't they?

ENGLAND... LAND OF HOPE AND GLORY!
I voted for the wall because thats where Rosie scratches after a poop, then Sophie jumps on and covers it up properly for her

Sophie covers hers though until she's made a big hill of litter in the middle of the tray
