Well, the eagerly anticipated LOTR musical finally openned last night in Toronto. Apparently London and New York were fighting for it, but Toronto got it. People from all over the world are booking trips to Toronto just to see this 3 plus hour long stage show as Toronto is the only place in the world it will play.
Would you travel just to see this LOTR show. I know there are many diehard LOTR fans, but it seems odd to me that people have already booked trips from as far away as Southeast Asia to come and see it. Don't get me wrong - I think it is great for Toronto tourism, but isn't that taking fandom a little too far?
