we left for geraldton the day before pandy was scheduled to be desexed and stayed in our usual cabin with her, she was scared at first but soon came out and just acted like her old self so we decided it would be okay to leave her there while we did some shopping, when we came back we couldn't see her at first, then we spotted a lump under the doona, the pillows had also been shoved to one side and when we looked under pandy was curled up hiding

i thought it was probably a one off and didn't think much of it, then when we got home she had to stay in our bedroom by herself for a few days so she would rest after her operation, i went in the bedroom to check on her and again found her hidden under the sheets....i thought okay, two times is alright, she must be stressed but then tonight i walked into the loungeroom and saw a bump under the throw i keep on the couch, again it was pandy hiding....

i don't think anythings wrong with her, other than the hiding she's acting the same as usual but why is she doing it?

cats are weird sometimes

The day before surgery (very stressful to begin with - the vet's office, anesthetic, pain and strange smells) you took her to a strange place - even if she's been there before, it wasn't home, and home is the only secure place cats know, then you went out and left her alone when shopping, and THEN kept her in the bedroom at home after the surgery. Give her time, she'll get over it, but don't push her at all.

Thanks

i'm not actually bothered that she does it, if she's happy then she can hide all she likes, it was out of charecture for her though but i think it would have been caused by the vet etc, thanks again
