How to get new (older) pet to become friendly?

I adopted a 4 yr old queen not even 2 weeks before she had her kittens. I've now had her just over 1 1/2 months. She is really scare to get used to my home. It has taken her till now to come into the living room but that is because I had to move her nest into it. How long might it take for Yen to become the loving cat her last owners claimed she was?

As long as it takes. Is there a rush? Don't forget her 'normal' self is not only stressed by the move, but the timing of the move (when she probably had a birthing place already picked out at 'home'), and then delivering the kittens, feeding them (which takes a lot out of mothers), and worrying about taking care of them in a place she wasn't even used to. The best thing is to be very consistent in what you do with her, don't move her kittens anywhere else, just let her feel secure and well fed and she'll come around eventually.
