Smothering Kittens???

My sister's cat Peaches had her kittens but she keeps lying on them and we hear screaming from them and we have to move them and I know she doesnt like it...
Do we just leave them be or keep fixing them when this happens?

I was paranoid our cat was doing this also, though aparently she wasnt smothering them. she was just trying to keep them warm. she laid right on top of them sometimes. are you sure the room is warm enough?? my advice is try and put them in a warmer room and watch to see what the mother does. good luck!

Yes my cat does the same. She laid on the kitten but once I got her to put it in a warm place she was fine. The only other time she does it is when she gets protective. My vet says it is very normal for that to happen.

its defenitely not the cold...she was right beside the heater. i think it was protectiveness.
