Things you can add....

Syrup, fruit preserves (my favorite, I add a couple spoons of surgar free apricot preserves), fresh or frozen fruit, chocolate chips, cinnamon.

All kinds of healthy stuff you can add, only limited by your imagination and of course your taste buds

Yes! I forgot to tell you about it. I am so sorry, things have really been hectic lately. It turned out very well. Thank you very much for the recipe

Now can you tell me what to do with leftover (shredded) chicken that was cooked with in green chiles and onions??? It was filling for chicken enchiladas and I had leftover.

I have 2 or 3 boxes at my desk- maple and brown sugar, apples and cinnamon and raisins and spice (i buy the store brand, tastes just the same to me) but toaster pastries are soooo much better!
Now see, that's funny. I absolutely ADORE oatmeal (not instant, though—too mushy) and fail to see how toaster pastries qualify as food.

I like Oatmeal with butter, brown sugar and milk. Too bad I can't eat it often. It has too much ruffage for me. Same thing happens when I eat Cherrio O's as well.

I eat oatmeal almost every day. I like to make baked apples to go in mine. I just cut up some apples, add a little Splenda, cinnamon, and flour, and bake them till they get soft. I cook up a bunch and keep them in the fridge and heat up a little in the microwave to add to my oatmeal.

Whats the use of eating "toaster pastries" cold????

Anyhow I enjoy the steel cut oats type of oatmeal. In fact had some this morning but I tried with a pat of butter and real maple syrup. My favorite way is half & half and "raw" brown sugar!!!

I eat oatmeal almost everyday. Either in the form of a breakfast bar or the cereal. I like the apples and cinnamon or the cinnamon roll flavors. A few months ago, I was part of a group that sampled the new Quaker Oats Breatfast Cookies. I sampled the cinnamon apple and it was fantastic!

I have been told I need to lower my cholesterol and lose weight, so that is what I am doing.

Porridge (a term not used in the US, AFAIK) is usually oatmeal, yes, but I believe it can also be used to refer to other cooked grains.
