iv'e been meaning to get pandy desexed for a while but we haven't been able to afford it because we were saving for removal fee's (we are moving in a month) but last weekend we finally got it done, i was so scared but i didn't want to post about it here because i thought everyone would think i'm horrible for not having it done already

it all went fine and after the operation i was allowed to see her for a few mintes by myself, she was so spacey looking, her eye's were all glazed, her tongue was poking out and she was really sleepy
i must have held her for 20mins, i didn't want to leave her but it wouldn't have been safe to take her at that time, even though they said i could have....she had shaved spots on her side, neck and arm lol and a drip in her arm.....it was so sad but she still looked cute

i know nearly every cat goes through it and is okay but it was such a scary time especially because she's so tiny.

Felicia! You're not a bad meowmy!

Pandy is now spayed and you kept her from getting pregnant - which is great!

When will she be coming home? I bet you're both looking forward to having her back with you!

We all worry about our babies when they go through these things, but I assure you she'll back to her normal self in no time!

Thankyou Sar

i felt so bad lol

she is back with me now, this was last weekend, sorry, i should have said so in my post.

i was without her for one night but it was horrible because i knew she would be alone at the vet after an operation and i really wanted to be with her.

they did tell me i could take her home but she didn't look fit enough for that in my opinion, plus, she still had her drip bag attatched.

it was so hard leaving her in that condition but she is doing well now, the scar site is a bit puffy but i'm sure it will be okay, if it gets worse i'll take her back for a check up.

thanks again

You shouldn't have felt bad at all!
We all know how life sometimes intervenes, but we all get everything sorted in the end!

I'm so glad to hear that Pandy's home with you all! It must have been so nice to get her back into the comfort of home!

It really is horrible seeing our babies all dopey like that
They seem so helpless and delicate
I agree that even though it was hard for you both, she was better at the vets until she woke more! Molly came home slightly 'drunk' a while ago and I had to walk everywhere with her

Yeah, the puffiness should ease in a couple of days, but it's good to keep an eye on it anyway! I hope Pandy's being good and not chewing on the stitches!!

Felicia, I know your a fantastic meowmy (and all your furries agree with me!)

Molly hasn't been spayed yet either (well, not "either" since Pandy has already been done...) but she's going in on Monday morning. She's really late, being about 8-9 months, but we had to find a day where dad is off work so he could "lend" us his driving expertise to drive her there, and if possible, 2 days where he's off would be best. But it didn't happen, we kept waking up and finding out that today he's off and we didn't know. After several incidents of that we just said "screw it" and made the appointment for a random day, and we'll be driving her there early on Monday morning (probably about 8am) and picking her up late on Tuesday evening (about 6-7pm). That's more time than I'd like for her to be there (2 days of Medi-cal being fed to her! *shudder*) but each day that passed seemed to be mocking me ("Hey there, Molly is now 8.22 months old now..." "Hey there, Molly is now 9.02 months old now..." "Hey there, Molly's not getting any younger you know..."), so my concience got the better of me.

Good timing too, since she's about to go into heat (or is already in it, I can never remember the many phases of a heat cycle) and a tomcat has been hanging around for the past 2 days (we're keeping a watchful eye on her, don't you worry
and even if an accident happens, she'll be spayed anyways, pregnant or not)

i have caught her out once but we have some stuff that apparently stops her wanting to, the stitches do look like they have been pulled a but but that was not long after we brough her hom and they haven't gotten worse, we had to lock her in our bedroom for a while so she'd rest, she was actually very good and when ever i went in there she was just laying on the bed looking contented

then again, she'd want to be, she lays on my egyptian cotton sheets.....spoilt girl she is

Awww! You shouldn't feel bad! We understand money dilemmas. Sometimes things happen. He point is that you knew you needed to get Pandy spayed & you were going to do it. There are so many people who wouldn't even bother to get her fixed, no matter how late.

Hope she heals well!

we would only think this about you if you NEVER got her spayed, & let her have litter after litter. Java went through 2 heats before i got her to the vet! but NO babies! you did just fine!
