We love watching movies

What are your favourites? If left on a desert island with nothing but 5 films (series box sets included), tv and a remote what would those movies be? (Ok lets include beer and popcorn in that list
)

Mmmm..mine would have to be:

CSI (Las Vegas) all of them , they are just fabulous
Vampires, (John Carpenter)
The Cat Returns , (Studio Ghibli anime)
Blade (Wesley Snipes)
and last...
Lord of the Rings, Return of the King

I can't pick just one. i love all kinds of movies, i kind of prefer historical ones and then again i love comedies, if they are written well, too many of the jokes just fall flat to me.

I love all sorts of films!
I think I'd have to be left on a desert island with my laptop and a major WiFi connection!

I love Art House films and artist films/shorts/animations. Anything experimental or entirely different is something I like to watch!

Movies are my crack.

Let's see the five, I would have to have

Star War Triology
CSI (I'm with you on that only I'd want all of them Miami, Vegas, and New York.)
Harry Potter Movies (And while I'm at it the books.
)
Howl's Moving Castle (Strangely enough another Studio Ghibli anime. Their stuff is great)
And Dune.

Though honestly, I think I'd need my Netflix membership still. Surely they'd ship to a deserted island right.

I like Horror, but I went with Action/Adventure. There hasn't been too many good looking Horror movies lately

My list would be:
Star Wars Boxed Set
LOTR Boxed Set
Harry Potter Set to-date
The Princess Bride
& The X-Files (any season)

I would also allow an alternate: Sex in the City (any season) if one is needed.

I cant' vote. I love all good movies, they might be European, Hollywood or Asian. A sparky action film that works is fine, so are intelligent dramas etc. My favorite movies of all time are Clockwork Orange and The Seven Samurai.

This is really a toughie!!

I would pick:

Top Gun
The Cosby Show (box set)
M*A*S*H* (box set)
Lonesome Dove
Castaway--just so I'd know someone felt my pain

My favorite movie is Tombstone, but I've seen it so many times that it would get old on a deserted island.

Law and Order - all except CI (yuck!)
Harry Potter series
Anything with Will Smith

A few horror flicks (but not your basic Friday the 13th, Halloween, etc crap - something decent that makes you really jump)

I can't even think of one. I almost never watch movies more than once. We have one little cabinet in the entertainment center with DVDs in it. Hubby bought almost all of them, and most of them have been watched 3 times, max. Hubby's idea. Aside from my daughter's kiddy DVDs like Dora and Elmo, which she watches on a fairly regular basis. Me, once I've seen it, I've seen it. I hardly ever watch TV or movies.

i dont really think a 2 hour movie and 20 plus hours of tv series are really comparable but I'll say my movies. Since it's too hard to just pick the 5 best I'll post the 5 I've watched the most (I'd conservatively guess that I've seen some of these movies more then 100 times)
Good Will Hunting
City Slickers
Die Hard Triology
Troy
Joe Dirt

We love our movies and have a fairly large collection now. They seem to be piled up everywhere, must sort out some decent shelving for them

We have watched Howls Moving Castle as well, fabulous film. You cant really go wrong with Ghibli animes.

Good to see there are some CSI and X-files fans out there as well, and also Harry Potter. I have read all the current books and we went to the cinema to see Goblet of Fire.

Not a huge fan of comedy movies, there are very few that make me really laugh. I think the last one was watching Meet the Fockers, the bit where Jinks flushes the dog down the chemical loo
I know, but what can i say it made me laugh **sorry dog lovers
** I gather the new Pink Panther with Leslie Neilsen is supposed to be good?

I love to be scared...Unfortunatley a lot of horror movies these days a just an excuse for gory, bloody scenes. The last film that really creeped me out was the original Japanese release of The Grudge, watched the Hollywood version as well it was a very poor substitute.

If you like zombie movies try Undead its very tongue in cheek, great fun. We also watched Crash recently, very good film, i can well understand all the Oscar nominations

I had a bit of a spending spree last month and am currently on season 2 of the X-files, season 3 of CSI amd just bought Firefly. Cancelled after one season state side, a real shame, cowboys in space
