Unfortunately, it tastes like *!#$%!
Imagine if I gave a sip to my cats.
Would you believe that, 15 years ago when I was 12, my doctor banned me from caffeine due to acid reflux disease? Yet here I am drinking this crap.Originally Posted by fatkitties
Oh gosh no. I quit all caffiene (except in chocolate!) almost 4 years ago. It was doing horrible things to me. After I got through the massive headaches and mood swings, I felt great. I always hated the "crash and burn" I'd have after the energy spike from drinking a lot of caffiene. Now, as long as i keep on my vitamins with iron, since I have a chronic problem with low iron, I'm fine. So I vote "no" to more caffiene! :-)
I used to drink several Mt Dews a day. I realized I may have a problem when I noticed that I had to have a Dew before I even went to the bathroom in the morning, and I had to walk past the bathroom to get to the kitchen. Then I started getting bladder infections over and over and decided to look at my diet. The amount of caffiene I was taking in looked like a good target, so I quit that, and the problems went away. Started again, and the problems came back. So I'm done with that now.Originally Posted by rblaude

I hope I don't get sick tomorrow, but in any case, it'll be worth it to get this paper done.
But since I don't normally have any form of caffeine, you can imagine how high I'm flying right now! The low hasn't hit yet - I'm just hoping I get another couple hours out of this then I can crash.... but I wonder if iron vitamins would help me long term.... interesting point!
also, check your multi - if it contains calcium, then the iron in it is worthless. it's the calcium in the dairy that prevents the iron from being absorbed.Originally Posted by fatkitties
I take the 1-a-day Women's vitamin with a glass of orange juice every day. The vitamin C (absorbic acid) helps your body absorb the iron. If you take an iron-containing supplement with milk or eggs, they interfere with your body's ability to absorb the iron. I had lots of issues with iron when I was pregnant. I took two iron pills a day (the most I could take of that kind) and it barely helped me at all. I'm still a hair on this side of low, 4 years later, but it's better than it has been.
