Hello,

I have two lovely maine coon cats. One 5-year-old female.
And her son, who is 3 years old. They are both indoor cats.
He is neutered and now he is getting fat. Is he getting fat because he is neutered?

What is the best food for neutered cats? And to keep them slim?

I now feed both of them "Sensible " It's dry food from Royal Canin.
Has anybody tried "Young Male S/O" from Royal Canin?

Royal canin also has a neutered cat diet available, but we haven't sold any at our clinic so I can't tell you the responses (though my mice liked the bag they got to eat).

Honestly, I believe making at least half of your cats diet wet food will greatly help the situation. Wet food is much better for keeping cats at a healthy weight (despite common misconception). Here are some related links you might find interesting:

(edit to add: this doesn't apply to you directly, but I feel like I've made the same reply to every single thread tonight... wet food is just a great thing
well, second to raw that is!)
