Video on Yahoo's main page right now.

Cat climbed tree and fell during rescue attempt. Can somebody with speakers tell me what the owners said in the interview? I don't have speakers here at work.

I believe that link will take you right to the video.

I think those people are jerks. Keep your animals indoors!

The cat is fine, and she was checked out by a vet. When asked what the first thing they would do, they said take her to a vet.

I don't think that AP article is very accurate, though. It says Piper was stuck up there for 8 days, but she didn't look starved in the video. It also says Piper is a "he" when the owner clearly says "she's not favoring her ribs".

I just saw this now on Yahoo, and thought I bet they're talking aobut this on TCS!
Poor cat, it was horrifying to watch, and I wonder just how ok she really is. I agree there's no way little Piper was stuck up there for 8 days.

I don't know--Poops got out and climbed a tree twice!! Both times she was there for 7 days
and she didn't look any different. It was sooooooo sad to see her there and not being able to get to her.
The first time, my BF had to hire a tree climber to go up, grab her and put her in a backpack. The second time, we put a board out to the limb she was on (she was out our back window, 2nd story) and she kept climbing up. Finally, she got on the roof of the house and we coaxed her to the edge where finally my BF was able to grab her and pull her down.
Now that she's spade, she doesn't have the tendency to escape. Its a shame no one would help us get her down. The fire dept. doesn't do it anymore. The vet said once she got hungry, she'd come down. Didn't happen.

When I first seen the story on the news, my stomach just dropped to see that poor kitty fall that far. All I could think was this cat cannot survive that fall but she bounced right back up. I'm was sooooo glad so was fine and hopefully her owners will keep her inside at all times!

I just don't see how nothing immediately broke in that cat's body from a fall like that.

She ran underneath a car after the fall. That is why she had oil on her. But I am sooo happy she is ok. It is amazing she didn't have any broken bones tho
