Seamus is the number one pet in our house. He rules over the other cat and the dog. Maxine, a shiba inu, is so submissive to Seamus, she'll greet him first, play-bow to him, and willingly approach him to allow him to groom her. Is anyone else's dog so obviously submissive to their cat?

Spaz rules the roost, all bow down before her.
Besides, the kitties all love the dog, but he's afraid of their wrath.

Yes. Jello avoids Joji. With one swat of her paw, Joji has trained him to keep out of her way.

With the other cats, Jello is at par.

And she's a torbie, of course!

Both dogs in our house know that the cats rule!

All of my dogs know better than to mess with the cats but I would say my most dog savvy kitty is Quki. My other cats dont mess with her either.

Opie put Ike in his place, right from the start. Ike will lay on the couch, watch a cat walk right by him and never move.

Pearl, on the other hand, has not learned that "hiss", "spit", "growl", "swipe" means "Back off you *&%$#@ dog!" After 3 years, she continues to try to get Opie and Buddy to play with her.

I brought our Sheltie dog who lives with my parents, over to my apartment. My 6 cats surrounded him and just stared at him and he started drooling and panting and whining. They scared the crap out of him! At my parents, he often gets in trouble for chasing the cats.

When Maddy was here..

My room was the CAT'S room. The first night Maddy slept here she fell asleep on my bed with me. Jack Daniels was sitting up in his cat tree. I woke up at 3 in the morning to find a whimpering dog on the floor and a snoozing cat curled up on my bed.

You can only imagine what happened there.

My lab/shep mix from the shelter "Keyco" thinks hes a cat. a 120lb cat. LOL.
He tries to join the cats in the window. He wants to play when we are playing with mousies and milk jug rings. He gets so frustrated that he cant join in with all the fun.
I dont know if the cats rule the roost over him or if its a pack of mooglies that all respect each other either way its a sight to behold sometimes.
1 big black dog rolling around and playing hide and seek with cats 1/4 his size.

Spalding runs to our dog Nunuk's water dish when it's being filled. Nunuk (110lbs) stands in line and waits until Spaldys done.

While my dogs respect all of the cats, they humbly bow to Stumpy. When they were puppies and they misbehaved, Stumpy put them in their place and ever since then, they simply obey him. Stumpy is 14 pounds. Sam is 65 pounds and Spike is 85 pounds. Go figure......

Rowdy is the only one of my cats, who will play with the dogs. Being the little agitator, that she is, she will sit on one side of the baby gate and tease them. Rowdy will also sneak up on a sleeping Ike and nip him on the butt. Poor, dumb Ike never connects the nip with Rowdy. He just gives her a kiss and goes back to sleep.
