I was volunteering for a Animal Shelter when one of the Control Officers went to pick up a trap in an area she has been before. She told me the last time she picked up a cat that was trapped there before had scratched her when she tried to get it out of the cage. So she wasn't taking any chances with this cat and killed it when she got back. Then about an hour later the lady that owned the cat called to claim it, but it was too late.

The supervisor hates cats...according to the annual AC report, there were 993 cats impounded in the city last year, 735 of which were euthanized. By comparison, there were 1678 dogs impounded, 476 of which were put down.

This animal shelter is just a slaughterhouse...they are not helping the problem but adding to it. It needs to end now. Please help me stop this by signing this petition.

That is appalling. Surely they have to keep animals for a set length of time at least before PTS? Not that that is enough it seems, but it would be a minimum.

No, he is not a cop although the Deputy is in charge and he has to answer to him. Texas has no law for the shelters and it is up to the city/county. That is what I will be working on next though...trying to get some laws made for the animals in this state.
