thought you were being sneaky, huh?

Dear Earl,
Are there animals that start with the letter "X"?
Keith, Age 9

Dear Keith,
Wow, that's a toughie! The closest answer I could find was the X Ray Fish. These fish are almost completely transparent -- in other words, you can see right through their skin! They live in the warm waters around South America, and they feed on tiny insects and plankton. They are very popular with aquarium owners, because of their strange looks. With the help of a bright light, you can see their skeletons and internal organs very easily. That's the only animal I could find that begins with an "X!"

so X-ray fish!
