Fav song from the 80's

The "Can you Remember" thread has me reminising (sp?) about things I loved from the 80's. I miss the music from then (sad I know). What were your favourite songs from that time?

My all time fav is Pat Benetar "We Belong", but basically anything from Footloose and Flashdance!

Also used to love listening to comedy songs on the Dr. Demento show, eg, "Fish Heads" and "Dead Puppies Aren't Much Fun".

And following close behind that song would be lots of other ballads from the 80s.

I love them all! I was very into the Police, Peter Gabriel, Genesis, John Waite, Corey Hart, the Talking Heads, Whitesnake, Van Halen, etc. My tastes were fairly diverse. I graduated from High School in the 80's, so that was my decade.

I was a crazy in love fan of Michael Jackson in the 80's. Thriller, Beat it, and Billy Jean were my favorite and I still know the words to those songs.
I also loved the music video to Thriller.

I think my husband has every hair band cd ever made....

Sometimes my boyfriend and I will listen to the music channel on tv and try to guess the bands before we look to see who they are. Its amazing how much I remember.
Its a shame that most those guys looked better in long hair and makeup than I do.

I always put songs from the 80s with movies of the 80s. And after that, I have to listen to it - it just gets stuck in my head.

I liked Spandau Ballet "True" and I love Wham! and The Bangles and.... I can't remember! the name of the group Belinda Carlisle was in.... total brain fart! any body help me?????

The Go-Go's, I believe.

the GoGo's!.... I saw them, the Psychadelic Furs and the B-52's in concert a few years back. It was a great show.

thanks guys, I knew someone would remember! Sorry Karen! A group called PM Dawn redid that song and I like that version too! I thought of another one too "West End Girls" by the Pet Shop Boys (I think) and who sings that song about "working as a waitress in a cocktail bar...." is that Spandau Ballet too?

I was driving to work this morning and I heard BoyzIIMen, Motownphilly, and was reminscing. Glad we got on to this discussion.

that song was big when I was in high school- not the 80's though, early 90's I believe.... that's be another good thread- fave 90's songs- since you liked Boyz 2 Men you remember Bell Biv Devoe too? Poison!
