Probably some kid with a pellet gun! I don't understand why the vet would leave them there! What about infection or lead poisoning? It just burns me up that people can be so cruel....

Sometimes it's better to leave them inside.It can do more harm if you try to take them out.As for poisining,most pellets used in air compressed weapons are made of softer materials like aluminium or other light material.They will hopefully just be absorbed by the body.
I'm hoping and praying they will catch the monster and give it a lengthy prison sentence!
