I ran into a man who only wanted vegitarian dog food... I showed him where they were and told him it wasnt the healthiest for the dog... Is it just me or if your not willing to give the dog some meat you shouldnt have one?? I know dogs are not cats but they need meat more than a human .... Once I feed a veggie formula but it was due to allergies ... This person said no the dog was fine he wanted it for personal reasons..

Ugh...that drives me crazy. Moreso with cats but you need to feed an animal what it needs. I'd rather see the animals on kibble than be subjected to a vegetarian diet.

My friends dog had to go one to a vegetarian diet for allergy reasons as well. I never knew there was such a thing as a carnivorous/omnivorous animal having a protein allergy.

Most allergies in an omnivore or carnivore are proteins ... whether they are animal proteins or plant proteins... the weird exception to this rule seems to be corn...

I just dont understand putting human beleifs on an animal... My dog has tremendous alleries that are improving on a raw diet ..lol.. so I guess I am the other extreme

I'm a vegetarian, but I would never take meat out of my pets diet. It's my choice not to eat meat, not theirs.
