does opening there eyes have to do with the length of the hair? because the last vet told us that if he was short hair he would open his eyes at 5-7 days and if he was long hair 10-15 days.
I have no idea what you vet is talking about. I raise Persians and have hed their eyes open at 5 days and some not until 12 days. It might have more to do with the number of kittens in the litter than the length of the kittens hair.
More kittens, less milk, longer time to open eyes.
We recently had a litter of 4 Ragdoll kittens, and the first kitten opened his eyes at 10 days, and had his eyes open completely at 11 days. The other 3 followed at 11 days old, and completely opened at 12 days. I have had it happen a little earlier, and a little later ,(but not much).
If you are having any discharge or eye crusties, than cleaning the eye with warm water on a cotton ball from the inside of the eye toward the outside, may help, but never force the eye open.
I think it depends on the breed. One of my siamese kittens started to open his eyes at three days. They are now nine days old and all of them have had fully opened eyes for two days.
the vet told my sister that she went to that vet because she gets a discount through her work. We took him to another vet last sunday but I forgot to ask him.
I have two female siamese kittens and kitten A. started opening her eyes on day 10 and the other hasn't yet..it can take longer for some. Just give it a little time.
