Blu has vomited 3 times since the weekend, once Saturday night and twice today. I have seen her occasionally vomit in the past, but never this many times in a short period.

Her vomit only looks partially digested with whole pieces of her dry cat food still plainly visible. I have not changed her food (Eukanuba Weight Management), but she is eating from a new bag that I purchased recently.

She acts and appears to be feeling fine, but the vomiting worries me. She has also been making occasional choking/gagging sounds, too. Could the new bag that I opened be bad (it comes in a sealed plastic bag), or maybe she just has a bit of a stomach bug or a hairball?

Do I need to take her to the vet or wait to see if it clears up on it's own?

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

**Edit** I should probably also add that we never gave her treats on a regular basis until around a week ago. We bought some chicken and cheese flavored treats at Wal-Mart and she LOVES them. Needless to say, she begs for them and gets several a day. She has not had any today, but still vomited twice, so I'm not sure if that could be related.

I would take her to the vet just to be safe. There are many things that could be causing this, and it is better to be safe than sorry. Good Luck and let us know how you make out!

yes, hopefully the vet will charge only minimal fee if the visit is a brief one. Please try to recall any changes that might be causing stress - maybe a stray cat prowling around outside, nearby construction, etc. Until you can get to the vet, I would call the office and ask for some hints on what to do till then, perhaps changing to boiled chicken/rice diet. Also, keep track of what's going in the box, both pee & poo, (disgusting, I know, but a wealth of information for the vet), incl. how often & how much & a brief description of the contents.
Blu is just so incredibly gorgeous and I'm sending plenty of "feel-better" prayers and vibes! Susan

What a pretty kitty! The treats may be upsetting her tummy and giving her indigestion so she throws up to relieve her tummy. Since you're feeding her the same food, I'd lean more towards her not being able to tolerate the treats. (My cat loves to eat fishy canned food, but it comes up shortly after it goes down because her tummy can't handle it.) Stop the treats and watch her to see if the throwing up stops. It can take a day or so to totally get out of her system, but I'd take her to the vet anyway just to be safe.

My kitty (also named Blue) started throwing up frequently as well. We took him to the vet and it ended up he had a ton of hairballs in his stomach. All the hairballs made him throw up sometimes twice or three times a day. He would also make those choking/gagging noises like your Blu. I started feeding him hairball remedy treats and things have really cleared up. Maybe try that but like everyone else has says, you should probably take Blu to the vet.
