radio question of the day: 03/13/06

You and a swarm of people get on an empty city bus. You and an unknown woman both sit down at the same time next to eachother...........you see a $50 bill laying under her seat....she immediately puts her head back as if to nap........what would you do, if anything?

Pick it up and ask if she has dropped any money. If she says yes, ask her what denomination she has lost. If she says 50 then its most likely her and not then I keep the money and tell the driver that if anyone lost some money to call me and tell me how muc hand I would return it!!

Ooooh thats a tricky one! my first reaction was, put my foot on it and move it over my way and pick it up once she leaves! but I wouldnt have the heart not to ask her if it was hers. If it wasn't Id ask her what she thought we should do with it. We'd either split it or give it to the bus driver incase anyone asked about it. But lets face it, he'd either pocket it or the owner would never come forward because they'd have no idea where they lost it.

Snatch it from under her and poke it in my cleavage.

Okay - I'll be good and ask if she lost any money. But being nice can cost ya!

Ask her if she dropped money, if so how much - if she can't answer give it to charity.

I'd pick it up and ask her if she lost any $, if she ends up losing $50, I'd give it to her. If not, guess I'm going shopping!

In all reality, I'd probably just give it to the bus driver to deal with. Around here, the CTA (and even the riders, oddly enough) are good about recovering things and reuniting them with rightful owners....I once lost my wallet/checkbook and got the whole thing back within 48 hours, all of my cash there and my cards unused. And I'm sure they have some official protocol.

that way the true owner might have a better chance of getting it back... otherwise, the bus driver might be going shopping!

I always put money in my cleavage and bra

As the others.... I'd ask if she dropped anything... (not money persay) if not, I would keep it and pay some bills!!

I think I'd ask if she lost any money, and if she says no or some other amount, I'd keep it or ask the bus driver.

Not me...I'd loose it in there! Don't wanna be digging around them in public looking for my change!

I'd be like everyone else and ask if she lost anything and if she tells me $50.00 then I'd give it back to her, if not, I'm not sure what I'd do with it. probably carry it around with me for awhile and see what happens. I hate prediciments like that.

Personally, I'd yell, OH LOOK A STREAKER!! When everyone looked out the window to see the naked guy running down the street, I'd snatch the dough!

I'd probably ask her if she lost money and how much. That's what I do with my brother..

I'm not sure what I'd do in this situation. Maybe I'd pick it up, then ask the person if she had dropped a bill out of her purse. If she says yes, then I ask if she is missing a 5 or a 10 dollar bill. If she answers either, she's a liar. I'd ask the bus driver what he does in situations where money is found on the bus without letting on that I found some. If he gives an answer that leads me to think he'd just keep it for himself, then I may as well keep the bill. If I lost money somewhere I'd consider it gone forever.

I'd like to think I'd be nice enough to ask... but I'll be honest wit myself and say I'd pocket it. Hey, $50 less I have to spend on my house down payment

If there were some way to positively identify whose it is - like if it was in a wallet or a purse that was left behind, that would be totally different and I'd return it. But found money left on it's own is found money. Maybe my karma was just really good that day and the gods left it there to help me out

Well i'm going to be honest here!.

I'd stick my foot over it, drop a pen from my bag beside it and bend down and pick them both up
