Hey Illinois TCSers

JCribbs (Jenn) and I are trying to coordinate the transport of Jimmy (his story's here to his new home.

Jimmy and I are in Cincy and Jenn's outside of Branson, so we're looking for a midway point to meet. We were originally thinking Evansville, Ind., but it's actually a couple of hours closer to me. So, now we're thinking someplace in Ill. along I-44, which we both have to travel at some point. So, I'm looking for suggestions about where to meet - possibly in the central part of the state. Maybe Springfield? I've driven through Ill., but that's about it, so any ideas would be a big help!

Sorry, Jan! It would have been great to meet up with you. Evansville is only a little over four hours for me, but looks like it would be close to seven for Jenn, since she's pretty far outside Branson. Thanks for the suggestion!

Did you mean Springfield Illinois? If so, that if waaaaaaaaay out of the way for you two. I just checked a map and maybe St Louis area? There are places along Interstate 64 in Illinois that would be good.

Yeah, but that was before I looked at map! It would be pretty far out of the way. St. Louis is an option if we can avoid the city. I need to try to find someplace that has a Hampton Inn close by. My mom may be making the drive with me and wants to stay overnight. She loves Hampton Inns.

I'm sure Hampton Inns has a website. They may have something on the Illinois side or maybe on the south side of St Louis.

It should be a great drive - now that the weather seems to have calmed down! The weather was hairy these past 5 days! You'll see Indiana's rolling hills and the flat prairie of southern Illinois.

If you could work it out, maybe you could stop on your way home? I'm about a 20 to 30 minute drive from the Lynnville, Indiana exit. (I could always lean on my horn and yell at folks to get out of my way! )

I just checked the website. There are several that would probably work. I'd love to stop on the way home. I'll PM you!
