wow, I havent posted here in some time now. My little gray DSH JJ is not himself. For the past week or so I noticed he no longer cries for his food as I am preparing and just about to serve it. He seems distracted. Also, he usualy finishes his 3oz portion 60 seconds or less and tries to get more from my other cats portion. But now he will eat half or less than half of his portion and leave. He might comeback and eat more but not always. He barely touched tonights meal, maybe 1/2 oz total he ate. I placed him by his food dish serveral times after he left but he didnt eat it. Then I offered him 2 slices of chicken breast sandwich slices and he ate them with almost his usual vigor. So Im a little confused and worried.

My other cat has also changed his eating behaviour a bit too. Julius usualy will eat or almost completely eat his portion (much slower than JJ's pace though) and then leave. But now he sorta grazes...eats very little very slowly, comes back and repeats this 2 or 3 more times. Tonight Julius ate very little at first, but when he came back the second and third time he ate all of his and most of JJs portion.

The only thing I think has changed is I usualy get turkey thighs but have been getting chicken thighs for the past 2 weeks or so. No other signs of a problem that I can think of.

The only thing I can think of is to switch back to the turkey (mine prefer chicken to turkey!) for a day and see if that helps. If not I would suggest a vet visit to check them out. It could always be an infection incubating.

My kitten goes through spurts... sometimes he eats tons and steals and other times he is disinterested. The vet said this is normal. I use the Life's Abundance .

well, tonight just like last he ate just a bit of his regular food. he keeps on looking around while he is eating, its like he is spooked about something. he ate maybe one eight of his portion, and didnt eat more no matter what. then i shredded some turkey breast sandwish slices and he ate a good portion of the 5 slices that I gave him. so im a little confused, seems he just doesnt like his food. Im not sure if its the chicken cause i think he was fine with it for a while before he started acting up. he is playing with other cat and chasing his ball like he usualy does, I hope its just a phase or something he is going through. my other little boy is eating normal again.

i think he a slight cold and cant smell his food. tonight i pocked a fish oil cap and squeezed it into a small plate. i put it in front of jj. jj spent about 5 seconds smelling it and he then proceeded to put his nose into the oil and moved his nose around for a couple seconds. he then licked it all clean. temp is still 101.3, he plays and chases julius, still doesnt eat most of his regular food so I have been giving him what he'll eat, which is turkey sandwich slices. I shred up the slices into a plate and mix in water so as he eats them he is forced to drink water. I also squirted about 15 dropper fulls worth of water into his mouth. I did end up making an appt with banfield for this saturday.
