hello. my cat is about 14 years old and recently she's been throwing up if we feed her her usual dry food. we've tried all different kinds and same result. however, she can eat wet food and doesn't get sick.
what could be wrong with her that is making this happen? we really don't like feeding wet food because of the smell and we have to give it to her more often in smaller quantities, but we will do anything for our baby so she is happy and healthy.
any ideas?

I think a vet visit is in order, given that she was eating her dry normally before. I'd have them run a senior blood panel on her, just because in her advannced age she is prone to big diseases that need to be caught asap so they can be managed.

That being said, a wet only diet is MUCH MUCH better than a diet that includes dry food. http://www.catinfo.org

Have you talked to you vet about this to rule out any medical problems? That would probably be what I would do first, especially in an older cat.

Hello and welcome to TCS .. at your kitties age ... she needs to have a senior panel done at the vet , also her teeth should be checked .. this checks regular blood stuff as well as organ function.. Older cats have a harder time digesting dry food , wet food is great and give her what she wants.. Please get to a vet ASAP so things can be found out I do hope it is just a kitty getting older

Actually, I've had that happen a little.
My cat hasn't had any problems with wet food, but has (a few times in the past) thrown up the dry - just after eating it. The vet found nothing wrong.
Now I'm changing him to mostly wet, (with just a little dry) and no vomiting has occurred - so far. He eats really fast when he has the dry.
