This is the insurance we have on our 2 cats. It seemed to be the best one for us and we've had no problems collecting for spay for Mika nor any other visits.

If you do a search on this forum (pet insurance) you will find loads of information. Of course some of it is pertinent to the US and Europe but there are some Canadians here as well.

We have looked at Petplan and it seems really good..so you must have the Medallion package then right? That one seems really good as it even pays for preventative stuff. I am just wondering if they would still insure Trout as she just had a little 3 day vet stay for dehydration, but they didn't actually diagnose her with anything and she just got better..

Yes, our flea medications are covered for sure. We just took Mika in about a month ago as she had loose stool and was vomiting a bit. They didn't find anything but gave us medication to firm up her stool and she was as right as rain in a day or so and they paid for that. I can't imagine why they would not insure Trout just for dehydration if nothing more serious was found. It's worth talking to them about for sure.

I use PetCare:
http://www.petcareinsurance.com/can/cat/index.asp

My one cat is on the Indoor plan, which is most affordable and covers pretty much anything I think she'll need. My other is on Mastercare, as he was VERY sickly as a kitten and I wanted to make sure he was FULLY covered incase anything else occured. I think I'll be downgrading his plan soon though, he's MUCH stronger and I need to cut costs.

president's choice financial also offers pet insurance, starting from around $11/mos. I don't have insurance myself, instead i just put the money i would pay for insurance into a high interest savings acct to save it for the day they need it.
