Hello everyone. Perhaps I should give some background information. My name is Jonetta & I have 2 feline "babies". Kismet (girl) is around 10 or 11 years old & Oreo Herber (boy) just turned 3 this past May.

My question is about Kismet. Just recently she's started pulling out her fur by the CHUNKS? i doin't thi nkthey have fleas because they are are both indoor cats and I haven't noticed any fleas on myself or on them. She's also started walking in circles around things.

Please, any information would be great appreciated!! Thanks in advance,

~~Jonetta

Hi Jonetta! Welcome to TCS!

I also have a fur puller.
It can be caused by many things, including fleas, food allergies, stress, and reaction to pain. Only your vet can tell you for sure what it causing it. A vet visit in definitely the best thing to do.

Abby's problem is mostly caused by stress and diet. we manage to keep it under control most of the time.

Hi Netta Jo
My 21 year old went through over 2 years of pulling his hair out by gobs. I took him to the vet twice, once it was fleas which he didn't have and then it was exzema. It wasn't until a few months ago I talked to a friend who had a cat who did this too and she was told that it is a obsessive compulsive disorder. That seemed more logical then anything. I don't know what to tell you to do about it. Mine just stopped but we think he won't be with us much longer. Apparently there are drugs they can give the cat but I don't know if I'd go that route I just wanted to share what I knew.
good luck.
Laurie
