Hi,

My older (9 years) short haired tabby cat doesn't groom anymore but I brush her almost everyday. The problem is her hair grows more than normal. The vet can't find any medical reason for it but it is driving me crazy! I can brush for an hour and keep getting handfuls out! The are no bald or thining areas because she just grows too much hair. I have tried different brushed, foods, etc with no difference. I have 3 other cats that don't have this problem and one of them is long haired. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

I have had those problems in older kitties myself (especially long hair) the only things I found that helped was a daily paste vitamen (given to me by my vet) and daily brushings. It might be a pain but is just part of getting older.

If you ever find out what causes it, let me know - my husband would start eating whatever it was that caused it.
