My cat will be a year old in april. she is mewing all the time, loves to rub up against thing, likes to be touched and held(more than normal). Could she be in heat? She has done this before.she is not neutered, yet.
also, something else odd is she gets her little toy mouse, grabs it in her teeth, and carries it to us. any help?

she sounds like she could be in heat, & the sooner she gets spayed, the better. it is better to spay when they're not in heat, but multiple heats can lead to problems in later life. as far as the toy, Pixel does this - she likes me to throw it so she can chase it.

Probably at work :(
Just recently had my female cat spayed. Before that it seemed as thought she was in heat every 3 months. Sounds like your cat is going into her heat. She will probably start making funny purring sounds every time you touch her--she will be VERY loveable!! Also, mine would crouch low to the ground and would stick her butt in the air--especially if you touched her anywhere!
She also had the tendency to escape to outside when she went into heat and climb trees for several days.
I would highly recommend having her spade! My kitty became so loveable and doesn't attempt to escape anymore.

Please book her in to be spayed - it should have been done already. Some vets will spay while they are in heat, but may charge more, so you will have to contact your vet about that. But while she is inheat, be very careful with her, she will do everything she can to get outside to find a male.
