So my Jasmine, who has been in my home since she was 10 weeks old, remains rather feral. She runs when people enter the room, you can't just walk up to her and pet her (unless you have food), and she can't walk down the 30 ft hallway without hiding in various bedrooms along the way.

Her sister Blue tamed up nicely, and has been adopted into a loving family. She is fitting in well, and loves her new Daddy LOTS!

I have been making an effort with Jazz, by playing with her almost daily with a string type toy. Also sharing my dinner, and lots of kitty treats. It has made some difference with Jazz. She looks at me when I enter a room, to judge if she should run and hide, or wait in case a treat is coming! I can walk within a foot or two before she runs off. I haven't picked her up in weeks, because she hates it. But tonight during "treat time", I did pick her up. While she clearly didn't enjoy it, she didn't freak out...and stayed for more treats.

But the biggest change in my house, is Gar and Fest come RUNNING when I talk sweet to Jazz! They can hear me all over the house, and know treats and fun are involved. The little piggies.

Jazz still loves Garfield best, then Festus. She looks to me and dd for play or treats...but I don't think any love is involved (yet). She is a sweet little girl, though. Where her sister Blue was soft as a bunny...Jazz has coarse fur. Both were jet black, but Blue was slim like a meezer, and Jazz is filling out. And where Blue came to me for food AND love, Jazz seems more wise to my manipulations, and looks at me as if saying, "What have you done for me lately?" What a challenge!

She was born in mid to late August, so she is about 5-1/2 months old. She is supposed to be my 10 y/o dd's cat. DD's room is where all the kitties sleep, but I think Gar and Fest sleep with her, and Jazz sleeps under the bed at night, and only up on the bed with the other kitties when dd is out of the room.

My 6 y/o son is too thoughtless...he is ok with the other kitties, but forgets to treat Jazz different, so they don't really interact. My 17 y/o ds doesn't care for the kitties much...he helps out when asked, and loves petting them and such, but isn't working on taming her. DH is the similar, he cares about the kitties, and is gentle with her, but isn't actively taming her. (He did alot of holding and petting when she and Blue were younger.)

Your kitties are so adorable

Congratulations on Jasmine's progress. Is Jasmine an indoor cat now?

Also, what are dd, ds, and dh? I have a feeling that they are not just abbreviations for names..

Yes, Jasmine was found outside at about 5 weeks, and was taken in by a hoarder, who then turned her and her litter over to the vet. They stayed at the vet for 2 weeks for medical care. Then I took the two tamest kittens, two black sisters.

They were held at the vets office and petted. So they acted like terrified babies who would allow you to hold them and pet them, but they didn't enjoy it. In fact, they often shivered as you held them. With TCS's help, I let them out of the cage, and then out of the kitty room way quicker than I had planned to. (Hissy was a big help.) Jasmine and her sister Blue are indoor only kitties now. Although they were found outside as kittens, I don't think they would have the skills to go out.

I have inside cats and outside cats, but none that go in and out!

DH is dear husband, ds is dear son, and dd is dear daughter.
