So...who gets freaked out by this and who loves it?
Personally I love it if a guy is affectionate in public. Within reason...
This morning I was sitting in a traffic jam and at the side of the road there was a guy and a girl eating each others faces for want of a better description! I really don't like this. I don't feel I should have to put up with it when I am out. Im all for people being happy but I don't think we need to see it to that extent.
I like it when a guy wants people to know he is with you, and shows affection and hugs you in public but if you take it too far, the people you are with feel uncomfortable and excluded.
I have a few friends who hate it. One girl doesn't even like holding hands in public.
I have had a boyfriend who couldn't be more distant when we were out in public and I didn't like that, you shouldn't have to chase attention.
How does everyone else feel? How are your other halves when you are out and about?

Oh yeah! There is a point some folks reach when you want to pull out the firehose! It's the subtle displays that are most endearing.

My ex was one of those super distant people, didn't even like holding my hand. Made me feel like he was embarassed to be seen with me or something......At the same time though, I think there are limits that people should have to see.

I'm no prude but i hate to see them in eating each other like you say in public.

Theres nothing wrong with a hug and a quick kiss but not the full thing, especially when you can actually hear them

GET A ROOM!!!!!

Get a room ha! I love it.
Something I just thought of...does that feeling ever actually last though? You know the one where you want to snog someones face off in public? I remember Mark and I used to be a lot more...together when we were out. We were never like that because it's just wrong but we did spend a lot of time joined at the hip. Now we are quite happy to go off and do our own thing and meet back up again, and talk to more people.
Not that we love each other any less, you just don't need them so much when you are out in a group.
I love to be kissed in the supermarket and places like that, just a quick one though. Just so everybody knows we are together.

That to me is perfectly normal and it's what i would call being comfortable with each other

I don't mind a little PDA, but like anything rlsr, a lot of people take it too far. We will still have a quick kiss and hug in public occasionally. Our friends get a kick out of it for some reason. I guess becuse after 21 years together, we still do it.

I don't mind tasteful PDAs. I had one boyfriend that would try to stick his tongue in my ear and take the level of PDA too far. Needless to say the relationship didn't last long.

I truely think that the level the other is interested in you will result in how much PDA you two do. That's IMO, nothing proven, just from my own experience.

I don't mind the pecks or even a long close mouthed kiss. Making out in public is a NO NO!! I dont want to watch people do it and I don't expect people to watch me do it.
Holding hands, hands in back pockets, hugging, a little cuddling is OK with me though.

Holding hands, a hug, a little kiss, no problem.
Sticking tongues down each others throats, sucking face, necking, petting and crawling all over each other, PROBLEM!

I actually think it's cute when couples hold hands et al in public. But anything beyond a few little kisses is not something I really want to witness, especially when I'm eating or something.

I agree with the rest. Holding hands is cute. A little peck is cute. Groping in public is not. What's worse are the people who get drunk in a bar and are doing everything but "the deed" right there.
Seriously - GET A ROOM!

Yeah I love holding hands etc. We go everywhere with an arm around, or holding hands etc but I would feel uncomfortable playing tonsil tennis in a very public place.

Oh yeah! I go out quite a lot to nightclubs and some of the things I see on a saturday night are enough to make you sick.
Why do people think it's cool and ok and that nobody can see them, once they have a few drinks inside them?!

I ride the train and have witnessed standing in the middle of the train for everyone to see a couple devouring each others faces all the while he had his hands on her butt rubbing & squeezing and I'm thinking doesn't she have any self respect.

I don't mind it if folks hold hands, hug, kiss (even with tongue), and things of that nature. I would rather see couples doing those things than looking miserable together or arguing.
I don't think it's appropriate to grope eachother in their "private areas" in public or anything like that, but other things don't bother me.
