sorry if this should be in the bahvior board. sahsa always loves me to pet her, she will leave her kittens and come to me and pet her, constantly talking to me when im not petting her trying to get me to pet her (i know this bc she stops meowing when i am petting her). she has gave me 2 love bites one on the foot because i was standing up and one on my hand. im not really concerened about that, just curious on what is going on with ur little mind.... my real question is why is she now starting to hiss at me??? she hissed at me twice, i thought maybe she hissed at me bc i was going towards the babies (even though she doesnt mind if i am around them, thought maybe something upset her) but the 2nd time i wasnt walking towards the babies at all and she was all inbetween my legs hissing at me. then i sat down and she wanted lots of attention! why would she hiss if she wants attention? was she mad at me bc i wasnt giving it to her? any inputs are greatly apreciated! ty so much for talking to me through this whole situation. btw i will have pics up in 2 hrs or less i hope. kittie

no replies but i have come to the conclusion she was just really still trying to figure out everything that was going and she wanted attention oh so much! i am the only one who can go around her kittens and her with absolutely no problem at all. ( i laid in her nesting bed with them and she went to sleep) i think the hissing (in case anyone else experiences this) was her confusion and her being mad i was walking away from her.

Under the cats, mostly.
I'm surprised you haven't had any replies from this post - I'm not generally around this forum much, but I saw this and I had to at least say something. I think after the birth of kittens a new mum will instinctively be very protective, but mingles with the feelings of love and safety that you give her as her owner, I'm fairly sure that what you were experiencing was the result of confusion! She knows you and trusts you - and yet the kittens are her tiny babies...

I think you've done the right thing - I'm no expert - but giving her the time to come to the conclusion that you weren't going to harm any of them, then I think that she's finally come around
Congratulations on your new arrivals.
